Bedford Lodging is a Dallas-based hotel development company established in 2013. The company was founded by Jeff Blackman, a seasoned hospitality executive with over 30 years of experience in all areas of the hotel industry. Throughout his career, Jeff has been involved in the development of more than 150 hotel properties, earning a strong reputation for excellence and strategic vision.
His expertise spans every facet of the lodging business, including development, management, asset management, acquisitions, due diligence, and advisory services. Under his leadership, Bedford Lodging has built a portfolio of high-quality properties that reflect a commitment to thoughtful design, operational efficiency, and long-term value.
In 2020, Jeff expanded his vision by founding 5 Senses Hospitality, a hotel management company created to oversee the day-to-day operations of Bedford Lodging’s assets. The company also provides professional management services for other hotel owners, delivering a personalized and performance-driven approach rooted in deep industry knowledge.
In 2025, Jeff sold Five Senses Hospitality to Crestline Hotels and Resorts out of Fairfax, VA. Crestline oversees the day-to-day operations of the current Bedford Lodging Portfolio.

Meet Jeff Blackman
Jeff launched Bedford Lodging in 2013 to leverage his long-standing industry relationships and expertise in all facets of the lodging business: Development, Management, Asset Management, Acquisition, Due Diligence assistance, and Advisory services. Bedford Lodging has developed 10 ground up hotels and acquired four hotels since inception.
In 2015, Jeff made an investment in Pillar Hotels and Resorts. Pillar was one of the largest third party management platforms in the U.S. In 2018, Jeff was instrumental in the disposition of Pillar Hotels to Aimbridge Hotels and Resorts.
He was previously on the Towneplace Suites by Marriott franchise advisory council and served as President of the Fairfield Inn & Suites franchise advisory council. Jeff is also on the Tapestry Collection by Hilton Owner Advisory council. In addition, he is an active member of the National Advisory Council of Wichita State University.
